David Keith

Ritchie Blackmore / Nelson / Leilani Kilgore

David Keith is a Nashville-based drummer, singer, composer and producer. He currently plays with legendary guitarist Ritchie Blackmore in Blackmore’s Night and Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow; Gunnar and Matthew Nelson in both their Billboard number one charting rock band Nelson and Ricky Nelson Remembered (a tribute to their father Rick Nelson).

David also records and tours with guitarist and front-woman Leilani Kilgore.

David plays live both nationally and internationally, from small and mid-size venues to headlining Sweden Rock with Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow. He has earned a reputation for being easy to work with, a quick study, always prepared and ready to play, and proficient in diverse genres of music. Says the famously particular Ritchie Blackmore, self-described as "fussy about drummers playing in the groove", "Dave plays in the pocket like a metronome, without losing the finesse."

David also enjoys session work, both in person as well as recording remote tracks from his home studio. Recent work includes a session with legendary producer Obie O’Brien at Sound Emporium in Nashville, playing with Phil X and Hugh McDonald from Bon Jovi.

David designs and builds custom drum hardware platform systems made entirely of reclaimed and recycled materials. He has also experimented with aging processes on some of his Bliss series cymbals, giving them a unique patina while bringing out a more complex and mellow sound. His current Dream arsenal includes cymbals from the Dark Matter, Bliss, Vintage Bliss, Dark Matter Bliss, Pang, and Contact series.

In addition to Dream Cymbals, David also endorses Aquarian Drumheads, Vater Drumsticks, Skygel Damperpads, and No Nuts Cymbal Sleeves.
