Miles Lassi

Miles Lassi, is a percussionist/producer hailing from the San Francisco Bay area. He has performed in over 150 cities throughout North America, Europe and Asia with many different ensembles ranging from the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra at Carnegie Hall to Annette Aguilar’s Latin Jazz sextet at the New Haven and San Jose Jazz Festivals.
He has also appeared with the Marin Symphony, Tangerine Dream, producers Alchemist and Oh No, Phildel, Uko Africana Band and the Monophonics. Miles has recorded for producers Sean C and LV (P Diddy's Hitmen) for artists including Talib Kweli, Miguel, Fabulous, and Jadakiss. As a dance accompanist, Miles frequently collaborates with pioneer Anna Halprin and has played for classes at Sonoma State University, ODC Dance Commons and the Mark Morris Dance Center. In 2010 Miles received a travel grant to Puerto Rico through the New York Foundation for the Arts to study congas with famed conguero David “La Mole” Ortiz. Miles is dedicated to experimenting with new sounds, rhythms and music for all mediums. He created the percussion score for David Rhymer’s musical Mata Hari in 8 Bullets directed by Tony award winner Peter Schneider at the 10th New York Musical Festival. Miles also developed parts for Rockstar Games Grand Theft Auto V Live Concert at the 51st New York Film Festival under the direction of Grammy award winner Om’mas Keith. Miles has been fortunate to study under Joseph Tompkins, Michael Werner, Glen Velez, Maya Gunji, Jim Baker, Allen Biggs and Tom Hemphill and is a graduate of Mannes the New School for Music. Miles recently finished up 3 years of playing percussion on the North American tour of Dirty Dancing: The Classic Story on Stage.
